Lovely Emails

Yesterday, playing about on Twitter, I saw that tweet from Jed Hallam. He's right, isn't he? Nice emails are awesome. You can be having a really rubbishy day, and then something fun pops into your inbox and it totally changes your mood. They make you laugh at loud at your desk, make you smile when you're day dreaming on your way home, and they're just better than people asking you about spreadsheets.

So after I sent Jed the *cutest* puppy photo in the world, to add to his email happiness, we decided that we should play a game. Games are fun. So are lovely emails.

We thought it would be fun if people emailed three people that they thought were awesome. Whether you know them, or you don't. People you admire, people who make you think. People who make you smile. Or that person who manages to do all three, without even knowing it.

If ten people emailed three people, that's thirty smiles before lunchtime. And well, that's awesome. Slightly twee, but the smiles make that OK. And it's not that twee, Jed followed up with this tweet :-)


Jed and I are nosy, and actually want to make many many people smile, so if you happen to be on Twitter, do use the #lovelyemails hashtag if you send or receive emails. That way we can keep track of the happy. Make sure your emails say something like, "I'm playing the #lovelyemails game and telling three special people that I think they're awesome. You should do the same and make someone smile." Point them to our blog posts if you like. Hopefully by the end of the day, loads of people will have lovely emails. Like the one that made Jed bounce about his flat yesterday.

So send someone a lovely email. Make their day. Make them smile. Who knows, maybe you'll get a lovely email too. Wouldn't that be cool?
